MR. MICHAEL SWABY
BA in Music Education / Certified by the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in piano and music theory level five / Certified by the ABRSM in Advanced Choral Singing / Certified DISC trainer /Certified John Maxwell Team member / 14 years experience as a Music Educator.
Michael is a husband and a father who loves spending time with his family. He loves to motivate and add value to people.
Michael Swaby was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica. He attended Northern Caribbean University where he attained a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Music Education. He prepared and directed the Manchester High School Choir in performances for the Prime Minister of Jamaica and the Mayor of Mandeville, Jamaica as well as several other performances throughout the island of Jamaica. He also led the Manchester High School Choir to victory in a nationally televised choir competition - TVJ’s All Together Sing. He further directed the Manchester High School Choir in passing the Royal Schools of Music Choir Exam in the advanced category. Michael performed with the award winning James E. Jordan Jr. (JEJ) Choir in the How Sweet The Sound Competition at the Verizon Center in Washington DC, and the Staples Center in Los Angeles CA, and in other performances within the United States. Michael started his professional teaching career in Jamaica at a local high school. He then moved to Washington D.C. where he continued his teaching career at a public charter school. He then went back to Jamaica to his alma mater high school where he taught General Music, Chorus, and Spanish for 4 years.
In recent years, he moved to New York City where he worked with Education Through Music for 3 years to provide music education to students in the public school system. Michael uses music as a tool to help children reach their full potential. He enjoys being a Music Educator and strongly believes that “whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
