MS. MEG LEONARD

PRINCIPAL

Masters in Elementary and Special Education, BA in Elementary/Special Education with a minor in English from Fairfield University, CPR/AED Infant/Child and Adult Certified, Child and Parent Certified Life Coach, 18 Years Educator and Administrative Experience.

In her spare time, Meg loves the chance to travel, especially to Nantucket which is undoubtedly her “happy” place. She always enjoys baking, organizing and spending time with loved ones.

Meg’s career has been in education ever since she graduated college. At a young age she knew her strengths and talents were focused around children, and this only grew as she spent time working with kids in after-school programs. Meg believes that character education and executive functioning skills are two pivotal parts to a child’s education. After teaching in 3rd and 5th grade at Greenvale for many years she began to take on various administrative responsibilities becoming the Director of Character Education, Assisting Division Directors, Director of Project Management, and many other roles that allowed her continued growth in her field.

Creating an executive functioning curriculum for elementary and middle school students was one of her greatest developments. Although it was hard to leave the classroom, Meg took on the role as Dean of Students at Greenvale and loved the ability to not only work one-on-one with children, but to work closely with parents and teachers. Becoming a certified life-coach with a focus on parenting skills and student success has been a wonderful benefit when working with parents and children.
