CIVICS & WELLNESS
A Whole-Child Approach to Engagement, Empowerment, and Wellbeing
At The School House, we believe education should develop not just the mind, but also the heart, body, andvoice. Our Civics & Wellness programs are woven into daily life to help Learners grow into capable leaders, caring neighbors, and thriving individuals.
CIVICS IN ACTION
Civic responsibility isn't a single lesson. It's a lived experience at The School House.

Wellness That Lasts a Lifetime
Wellness at The School House is not an 'extra.' It's essential.
MOVEMENT ALL DAY
At The School House, movement isn’t a break from learning—it’s part of how we learn. Throughout the day, Learners rotate between hands-on work, outdoor exploration, practical life tasks, and purposeful play that build focus, stamina, and confidence. This steady rhythm of motion supports healthy bodies and sharp minds, helps regulate emotions, and makes lessons stick. When children move, they engage more deeply—so every step, stretch, and task becomes another pathway to understanding.
END OF DAY PROVOCATIONS
End-of-day provocations at The School House are a vital part of our learning rhythm. We invite Learners to pause, reflect, and connect the day’s experiences with bigger ideas, questions, and possibilities. These intentional moments spark curiosity, strengthen critical thinking, and help children articulate their own perspectives. By closing the day with reflection rather than conclusion, provocations keep learning alive—carried home in conversations with families and fueling the discoveries of tomorrow.
PRESIDENTIAL PHYSICAL FITNESS
The Presidential Physical Fitness program is an important part of childhood development because it sets a national standard for strength, endurance, and overall health—reminding children that their bodies are just as important to exercise as their minds. At The School House, it provides Learners with measurable goals, builds resilience through practice, and instills pride in personal achievement. More than just fitness tests, it encourages lifelong habits of movement, perseverance, and confidence, helping children grow into strong, capable, and self-assured adults.
