Natalie brings a spirit of curiosity, creativity, and connection to all that she does. As a wife and
mother of two sons, she finds inspiration in the everyday moments of family life and carries that
same sense of wonder and compassion into her work with children. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, crafting, and exploring new places through travel.
A dedicated Educator and leader, Natalie Viegas has more than a decade of experience in teaching
and school administration. She earned her Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from
Hunter College, graduating summa cum laude, and holds New York State Professional Certification in
Early Childhood Education.
Natalie’s experience in education began in the classroom, where she supported children as an Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Educator. She later expanded her impact through leadership roles, including Site Administrator and Assistant Director, before joining The School House as Director of Operations and advancing to her current role as Assistant Principal. She is passionate about helping
children discover their potential and believes the most meaningful moments in education occur when students build confidence, embrace challenges, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
When Natalie discovered The School House, she immediately connected with its innovative
philosophy and child-centered approach. She was inspired by the school's commitment to providing freedom within structure, empowering students to take ownership of their learning while giving Educators the flexibility to teach creatively through the American Emergent
Curriculum. Natalie knew she had found a school community that reflected her own educational
values and vision.
As Assistant Principal, Natalie is committed to preserving The School House’s culture of excellence
while partnering with students, families, and educators to create a learning environment where every
child is supported, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.
